Max Claudet Museum, Salins-les-Bains

The museum is currently closed due to the Salins museums restoration project.  However, two major works are on permanent display at the Museum of fine arts at Dole: « L’adoration des mages » (the adoration of the magi) by Pieter Brueghel the Younger and « La roche pourrie »(the Roche Pourrie) by Gustave Courbet. The latter is currently displayed, together with 2 paintings from the Museum of Lons-le-Saunier, in the Courbet retrospective: Grand Palais in Paris, Metropolitan Museum in New York and the Fabre Museum at Montpellier.
