The Know-how Factory - Ravilloles

The Atelier des Savoir-faire (Know-how Factory) offers real-life craftsmanship just 15 minutes from St Claude! The Centre is spread over 2,400m2 and offers visitors the possibility of discovery, astonishment and entertainment. Learn about the intrinsic properties of materials such as boxwood, ivory and bone. Then head to the surprising story of the first wooden dolls.
You can enjoy a live demonstration by a craftsman or woman (ask for the Factory schedule) and learn manufacturing tricks and secrets revealed just for you! Then join one of the three innovation modules to hear the stories of the men and women looking to the future.

The Know-how Factory is also a very important meeting point for fans of the arts and creative pastimes. Courses taught by professionals are on offer throughout the year. In 2010, several new courses will be available: felt making, hat making, raku and high temperature enamelware. Perennial favourites will also be on the menu: stained-glass making, wood sculpting, scribing, etc.
