Chalet à comté du Coin d’Aval at Fort-du-Plasne

Guided tour of an authentic cooperative cheese dairy dating from 1825, the last remaining evidence of  50 identical chalets that existed in XIX century Grandvaux.
Two films recreating milking, moulding and the making of the linen cheese cloth, carried out in the chalet itself by enthusiastic volunteers from the association which calls itself « les Amis du Grandvaux », bring to life this place of daily work and interchange between cheesemaker, country folk and villagers.
