The last hamlet occupied by the woodcutters and charcoal burners who once populated the forest of Chaux, the site of the « baraques du 14 », has become an unmissable attraction in this forest.
Four dwellings, two bread ovens and an apiary comprise this settlement, the oldest house of which dates from the XVI century. A foresters’ path bears evidence of other aspects of this heritage including a charcoal-burning area.  The site is brought to life in the summer season with festivals, exhibitions and evening activities.
