To know and understand the rural world today is to take into account its development and the transformations that have occurred.
We must preserve collective memories by preserving machines and tools which are evidence of such development and of the ingenuity of the people of the earth.
In the House of Rural Heritage, there is a permanent 1800 m2 exhibition in 4 buildings.
All these old machines are there to trace the development of agricultural mechanisation. The various workshops and artisans’ shops are recreated as a witness to this past and the wide variety of tools on display is a real history lesson in itself.
Summary: This exhibition keeps alive the memory of the rural trades and crafts of the Jura: clog-maker, saddler, cobbler, joiner, blacksmith, wine-grower etc.
1800 m2 of undercover space is devoted to displaying tools and agricultural machinery.
