Sentier karstique des Malrochers

A fantastic journey through a half-plant, half-mineral world

Beneath the foliage of its trees, the Besain Forest hides an eroded limestone pavement, whose name, "Malrochers" (loosely translated as the Rocks of Evil), evokes a rugged and tortured landscape.
A geological showcase, this natural environment has been set out with an educational and entertaining trail suitable for families. Marked with a friendly "cave man" and bordered by spooky stone monsters, the trail is suitable for all provided visitors follow the path.
Chasms, caves, sinkholes and endless labyrinths plunge you into a bewitching environment. Occasional blackened circular marks testify to the activity of charcoal burners who worked in the forest to provide pre-industrial sites in the region with fuel.
Measuring 5 km in length and marked by seven information boards, the path also allows you to discover the fauna and flora specific to this exceptional natural environment.
