Owned in the XII century by the de Coligny family, the château de Chevreaux was destroyed in 1637 during the conflict between France and Spain for sovereignty over Franche-Comté. This site has an outstanding view over the la Bresse plain and has taken on a new lease of life since 1990 due to the initiatives of the « Friends of Chevreaux Chatel ». International workforces of young volunteers, working holidays, visits and various events are organised each year to raise awareness of heritage and environmental conservation.
