The river Ain has its source 750m above sea level on the Nozeroy plateau, carving out the landscape across the forested mountain range and the lake district. Along this beautiful and strong-flowing river, we can trace the story of the people of the Jura back to prehistoric times through ancient remains (Clairvaux, Chalain) through traditional crafts (Syam forges and toy museum for example) and sites such as the incredible Sequani sanctuary of Villards d’Héria.
