On this circuit, you will encounter inhabitants of the Jura whose work went beyond the boundaries of their home region: Claude-Joseph Rouget-de-Lisle (1760-1836) author of the Marseillaise, Louis Pasteur (1822-1895), famous inventor of the rabies vaccine, Paul-Émile Victor (1907-1995), renowned polar explorer. Enthusiasts have retraced the lives of these great men and present them in museums which invite you into their homes (Lons-le-Saunier, Arbois) or open up perspectives on contemporary life: microbiological research (Dole), polar expeditions (Prémanon).
